I am a PhD student from the University of Utrecht visiting the COALESCE Lab for a period of three months. My background is in sociology (BSc) and applied statistics (MSc). This PhD project is embedded in the INCLUSIVITY ("Inclusivity norms to counter polarization in European societies") project, which is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. Within this part of the INCLUSIVITY project, we are studying how social norms can spread in a social network structure to affect affective and ideological polarization. My aim during my time with the COALESCE team is to develop an agent-based model to study this problem theoretically.
