Directions

To reach the UAB from the city of Barcelona, take the train of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), lines S2 (Barcelona Plaça Catalunya – Sabadell) or S6 (Barcelona Plaça Catalunya – U Autònoma). From Plaça de Catalunya (Catalonia Square), at the centre of Barcelona; the entry to the station is right in front of the Cafè Zurich close to La Rambla) the trip takes about 30 minutes to the "Universitat Autònoma" station. There you should exit the station (you need your train ticket to do so) and walk to the Facultat de Filosofia i Lletres (Faculty of Arts and Humanities) in approximately 10–15 minutes. If, instead of going to the university, you wish to go to the Vila Universitària (where the accommodation facilities are: the Hotel Exe Campus and the apartments you can rent), you can leave the train at the station "Bellaterra" (one stop before the "Universitat Autonoma" stop), and then walk for 5–10 minutes.

You can purchase a single ticket ("bitllet senzill") for about 3 euros in the vending machines in the FGC stations, or a T-Casual (1 zone) ticket (€11.32), which allows you to take 10 trips. This ticket allows the combination of train, metro, or bus within one hour and a half after starting the trip.

The national railway company Renfe also offers a train line to the station named "Cerdanyola-Universitat" (R7 Cerdanyola Universitat – Barcelona Fabra i Puig), but it is a bit far from the Campus (a 10–15 minutes walk). We therefore recommend you to take the FGC line instead.

To go to the Barcelona-El Prat Airport from Plaça de Catalunya (Catalonia Square), you can take the Aerobus shuttle, which you will find in front of El Corte Inglés (a big mall). You will note that there are two separate queues – one for the Aerobus (A1) to Terminal 1 (T1) and one for the Aerobus (A2) to Terminal 2 (T2). The trip takes about 40 minutes. You can also get to the airport by metro. In that case, select "airport" at the ticket vending machine (€4.5), and take the green Line 3 (L3) from "Plaça Catalunya" to the "Zona Universitària" station, where you need to change to Line 9 Sud (L9S) until the airport. The trip from Catalonia Square to the airport takes about 60 minutes.
