We are happy to invite contributions to two organized sessions by members of the COALESCE Lab at the 8th European Conference on Social Networks (EUSN 2026), which will take place in Norrköping, Sweden, on 11–15 August 2026.
Mixed Methods for Social Network Analysis
- Organizers: Miranda J. Lubbers, Nuria Targarona Rifa, and Francisca Ortiz Ruiz
- This session focuses on the integration of qualitative and quantitative approaches in social network research, including designs, data collection, and analytical strategies. We invite papers that reflect on research design, ethics, triangulation, and the added value of mixed methods for understanding complex network processes.
Networks of Weak Ties and Social Cohesion
- Organizers: Michał Bojanowski, Gonzalo Franetovic, and Paul Schuler
- This session welcomes theoretical, empirical, and methodological contributions on how weak ties and acquaintances shape information diffusion, social cohesion, segregation, trust, and inequality in contemporary societies. We particularly encourage submissions using large-scale, longitudinal, or comparative data, as well as innovative network methods.
Please submit your abstract (up to 500 words) via the EUSN 2026 submission platform: The 8th European Conference on Social Networks (EUSN 2026) - Linköping University and select the relevant organized session. The deadline for abstract submission is 1 March 2026.
We look forward to receiving your contributions and to seeing many of you in Norrköping!
