Paul Schuler is a postdoctoral researcher at the COALESCE Lab and PhD candidate at the School of Social and Political Science of the University of Edinburgh. In his PhD research, he examined the role of place and social networks in providing social support to young adults in Switzerland, using multilevel models. Before his time in Edinburgh, he completed an MSc in Computational Social Science at the Institute for Analytical Sociology (Linköping University) and a BA in Sociology at Leipzig University.

During his PhD studies, Paul has been a teaching assistant in courses on Social Network Analysis and Computational Sociology, and helped coordinate the Social Data Science Hub.

Paul's research interests lie in social networks, social capital, social support, geographic and residential effects, as well as computational approaches and analytical sociology.
