Miranda Lubbers and Michał Bojanowski participated in the BIGSSS Summer School in Computational Social Science, a Research Incubator on Data-driven Modeling of Social Cohesion, which took place in Groningen from July 4 to 15th, 2022. The summer school was organized by Jacobs University, the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences, and the Volkswagen Foundation. It consisted of nine researchers or pairs of researchers working with small groups of early career scholars on a data challenge. Our case, "modeling society-wide networks", was related to the Bridges project we conduct at the COALESCE Lab. Our group was formed by PhD students Paul Schuler, Susanne Böller, Alla Loseva, and Aswathi Padmavilochanan. We had a lot of fun! Furthermore, Miranda gave the keynote "The invisible threads: A network approach to social cohesion" for the entire group, and Michał the workshop "Using ERGMs for generating plausible network data for social simulation studies".
